Bate-Wood Homes

Bate-Wood Homes, located on South Second Street, is a family housing site with 64 townhouse and duplex units ranging in size from zero to four bedrooms. The units were constructed in three phases in 1951, 1953 and 1964. There have been ongoing renovations with the latest renovation being completed in 2012. They is air-conditioning, washer hookups, off-street parking and there are handicapped accessible units available within the complex.

Bate-Wood Homes is within walking distance of downtown Danville, the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, local pharmacies, the Boyle County Health Department, Family Services Association of Boyle County and the Kentucky School For The Deaf.

Located in Danville’s Mary G. Hogsett Elementary School district, Bate-Wood Homes is adjacent to the Bate-Wood City Park which features walking trails along Clark’s Run as well as playground and passive picnic areas.

The Bate-Wood Community Center on Toombs Court offers a wide range of educational and recreational programs for residents and has ten computers available for resident use. Bate-Wood Homes is also the site for a summer free lunch program for children and is home to the Danville-Boyle County Evenstart program designed for parents of young children who want to obtain their General Education Diploma (GED) and receive job training.

Location

To reach Bate-Wood Homes from Danville’s Main Street, travel east on Main to Second Street and turn south on Second. The complex is to your left beginning at 550 S. Second St. and is accessed by turning left onto Toombs Court and J. E. Woods Drive with some units also fronting on South Second Street.
